In the spring of 2011, the DCA, with the approval of MD DNR & Management of Seneca Creek State Park, developed two fenced areas in Seneca Creek State Park to exclude deer.  Each enclosure is approximately 1 acre and were developed as an experiment to measure the impact of deer on the forest trees, specifically development of new trees.  The presentation below provides an overview of the initial effort as well as some of the important results and comparison of development of forest vegetation inside the protect enclosure vs. outside the enclosure.
